Spotify Update Rated Worst User Interface of 2024
“The new app is a train wreck. And anyone can see that when you pick a song for a new playlist, the app forces our recommendations onto your playlist. Those songs pay the record labels most. This helps put food on their enormous redwood tables,” a Spotify insider shared with our reporter.
Our reporter asked, “We’re getting a lot of frustration using the clunky new app, and seeing many similar comments. How has the user testing been?”
“User testing is a thing of the past. Now record label execs yell at the developers all day while they code. That’s how label best interests are worked in deepest. Is the new interface clunky? I guess, but that’s not the point. As far as users go, well they’re locked in with all their playlists so Daniel doesn’t really give a f###.”
We asked, “What is the future of Spotify, and the future of artist payouts?”
“I don’t have a crystal ball or anything, but AI music is around the corner. I see a doubling of the monthly subscription fee to fund it. Artist payouts are probably going down to zero. Why? Nobody needs Rolling Stones when you can listen to Rowling Stonzz with 73 backup singers. Nobody needs Taylor Swift when you can hear Tawler Switt sing in eleven octaves.”
